The last 30st of June and 1st of July a French-German Young Chemist Conference was celebrated in Mulhouse. Five regional networks of young chemists were in charge of organizing the event, called “Curiosity symposium”, including the French Chemical Society (RJ-SCF) in Alsace, the Young Chemists Forum (JCF) of the German Chemical Society (GDCh) in Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Saarbrücken and Kaiserslautern. All together
they formed a partnership for “Young Chemists of the Upper Rhine”. The goal of the conference was to provide networking opportunities for young chemists and promoting the research done on both sides of the Upper Rhine in France and Germany.
Gabriel Martinez, a PhD Student from the SYCOMMOR team, presented his work on exploring the role of hydrogen-bonding in organic
electronics. His dynamic presentation, interesting results and enthusiasm were recognized with the best talk award, consisting on a prize of 200 euros! A great motivation for the students during these difficult times! Gabriel enjoyed the opportunity, interacted with many other colleagues from both sides of the border and had the opportunity of discussing with professors with different backgrounds, allowing him and the group to collaborate with other colleagues.
